FAQ & Troubleshooting

This article summarizes the most common issues and solutions when using AiBooster.

Connection Issues

Cannot Connect to Any Node

Possible Causes:

  1. Network connection issues
  2. All nodes unavailable
  3. Subscription expired

Solutions:

  1. Check if network is normal (can you access other sites)
  2. Update subscription to get latest nodes
  3. Try different nodes
  4. Check subscription validity

No Internet After Connecting

Possible Causes:

  1. DNS configuration issues
  2. Routing rules misconfigured
  3. System proxy not effective

Solutions:

  1. Try changing DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1
  2. Switch to Global Mode for testing
  3. Restart app or device

Unstable Connection/Frequent Disconnects

Possible Causes:

  1. Unstable network
  2. Poor node quality
  3. System sleep causing disconnect

Solutions:

  1. Switch to lower latency node
  2. Check for other VPN software conflicts
  3. Disable battery optimization (mobile)
  4. Enable "Keep awake" option

Speed Issues

Slow Speed

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Test direct connection speed

    • Disconnect proxy, test speed
    • If also slow directly, it's a local network issue
  2. Change node

    • Use latency test to find fastest node
    • Try nodes in different regions
  3. Check protocol

    • Some protocols may be throttled
    • Try TUIC, Hysteria2, etc.
  4. Optimize settings

    • Disable unnecessary features
    • Use TUN mode

High Latency

Solutions:

  1. Choose geographically closer nodes
  2. Check for DNS leaks
  3. Try different protocols

Application Issues

App Won't Start

Windows:

  1. Check if VC++ Runtime is installed
  2. Run as Administrator
  3. Check if antivirus is blocking

macOS:

  1. Allow app in system settings
  2. Check if system extension is installed
  3. Reset app permissions

Linux:

  1. Check if dependencies are complete
  2. Check execute permissions
  3. View log files

TUN Mode Won't Enable

Solutions:

# Windows - Administrator Command Prompt
netsh winsock reset
# Restart computer
 
# macOS - Check system extension
systemextensionsctl list
 
# Linux - Set permissions
sudo setcap cap_net_admin+ep /path/to/aibooster

Subscription Update Failed

  1. Check if subscription link is correct
  2. Try using proxy to access subscription
  3. Manually test subscription link in browser
  4. Contact subscription provider

Windows Firewall Blocking

  1. Open Windows Security Center
  2. Firewall & network protection
  3. Allow an app through firewall
  4. Find AiBooster and allow

macOS System Extension Issues

  1. Open System Settings β†’ Privacy & Security
  2. Click "Allow" for system extension
  3. Restart computer
  4. Reopen AiBooster

High Battery Drain on Phone

  1. Check if unnecessary features are enabled
  2. Reduce subscription update frequency
  3. Disconnect when not in use

Logs & Diagnostics

Export Logs

  1. Go to Settings β†’ About
  2. Tap Export Logs
  3. Save log file
